ExxonMobil paid to mislead public

The Boston Globe – ExxonMobil Corp. gave $16 million to 43 ideological groups between 1998 and 2005 in an effort to mislead the public by discrediting the science behind global warming, the Union of Concerned Scientists asserted Wednesday.

LSB: OMG, the next thing we’ll find out is that the cigarette manufacturers misled the public about nicotine. ExxonMobil needs to keep making money to pay off the $400 million retirement settlement for their CEO, so of course they’re gonna lie about the harmful effects of their product.
