Boehner: Troop deaths in Iraq are ‘a small price

ThinkProgress.com: In an interview on CNN today, Wolf Blitzer asked House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) about “the Americans who are killed every month” in Iraq and “how much longer” the “military commitment is going to require?” “The investment that we’re making today will be a small price if we’re able to stop al Qaeda here,” replied Boehner. As Atrios notes, the “small price” Boehner refers to is “3774 dead US troops and counting.”

LSB: Congressman Boehner, the price my family paid - my beloved nephew - was too great. Until you sacrifice someone in your family, SHUT THE FUCK UP about the "small price" we have to make to stop al Qaeda in Iraq. There was NO al Qaeda in Iraq until long after the US occupation, and this was has been the best recruiting tool they have. Want to make a dent in al Qaeda? Let's leave and take away their targets.
