McCain and Lieberman Express Support For Sending More Troops to Iraq

Opposition to the Iraq war was the dominant factor in this week’s election. NBC’s Meet the Press invited Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) to discuss the issue. Both McCain and Lieberman expressed support for sending more troops to Iraq. Watch it.

LSB: McCain would sell out his mother for the GOP nomination. We’ve seen this many times, notably with his speech at Bob Jones University. The problem for the Dems is that they need Lieberman to retain their majority in the Senate. While I would LOVE to see Harry Reid “slap” Lieberman by denying him a Senate chairmanship, the truth is Lieberman would switch parties in heartbeat (as he's already demonstrated) if promised a chairmanship by the Repubs – and control of the Senate would then revert to the Repubs. Lieberman has Reid by the balls for the next two years, so Dems have control of the Senate – agenda, chairmanships, subpoenas power – in name only for the next couple of years.
