It was a VERY good day!

Welcome to all of the new Democratic Senators and Representatives! Let's use the public's frustration with the war, the corruption, and the White House bullying to get some things done. Think: timeline for Iraq; minimum wage; health care/prescription medicine solution; campaign finance reform; saving the Internet; protecting the environment; and, if there is time, IMPEACH BUSH AND CHENEY. This president is still an obstructionist - if it isn't Dick's way, it's the highway - but there is no veto proof margin. However, you can still force the Repugnants in Congress to go on record and make Bush use his veto.

I’d also like to welcome all of our new Democratic Governors! Let’s clean up our states and set-up for the 2008 election. We’ve got to get you help so the Repub gerrymandering done in 2000 can be eliminated in 2010.

The 110th will be missing out on some fine people: Tammy Duckworth (IL-06); Patty Wetterling (MN-06); Scott Kleeb (NE-03); Angie Paccione (CO-04); and Victoria Wulsin (OH-02), among others. I hope we’ll see you again!

Conversely, I’m frustrated to see some of our old nemeses will be joining the 110th House of Representatives: John Doolittle (CA-04); Marilyn Musgrave (CO-04); Christopher Shays (CT-04); Michele Bachmann (MN-06); Peter King (NY-03); Tom Reynolds (NY-26); Jeanne Schmidt (OH-02); Debra Pryce (OH-15); and Barbara Cubin (WY-All). Get ready to stand at the back of the bus, assholes.

Finally, once again my voice has not reflected by my elected representatives: Joe Barton, TX-06; Kay Bailey Hutchison, Senator; and Rick Perry, Governor. Thank heavens there are rational thinkers in the rest of the US that at least the House and Senate will have the "left" voices speaking for me.

Take a moment, and help convince Nancy Pelosi to Impeach..

The day the nation demands impeachment is upon us. Sacks and sacks of mail are about to arrive in Nancy Pelosi's office initiating impeachment via the House of Representative's own rules. This legal document is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the impeachment resolution (H.R. 635).

There's a little known and rarely used clause of the "Jefferson Manual" in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process.

That's where we come in. In addition to a House Resolution (635), or the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. ImpeachforPeace.org has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.

You can initiate the impeachment process and simultaneously help to convince Pelosi to follow through with the process. Do-It-Yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information in the blanks (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in. Be a part of history.
